Welcome to the online home of KOPN's Sunday Morning Coffeehouse. Since
July 3, 1994, it has been my priviledge to be your host, playing this wonderful music that I've loved since I was a kid...music of joy and sorrow, of despair and hope, of war and peace...simply the best music in the world. From the time I heard my first folk recordings, music of Marais and Miranda, Pete Seeger (see also)and The Weavers, I've been hooked. This led to the discovery of The Kingston Trio, Peter, Paul & Mary and The Limeliters...and the commentary of such social historians as Phil Ochs, Tom Paxton and many more. Over the years, I've also grown to love the instrumental side of this music beginning with the Goofing Off Suite and the instrumentation behind Bells of Rhymney leading to such notable guitarists as Dick Rosmini, Mason Williams, Leo Kottke and Michael Hedges. Add to the mix a little international folk, old-time, bluegrass, newgrass, country, blues, Americana, a little comedy and spoken word and occasional spots of musical theatre, soundtracks and classical music and Voilà -- you have the Sunday Morning Coffeehouse.
I originally had the online home of the show on Yahoo's Geocities, but you get what you pay for. I decided to move from there to a more robust hosting service. This site is changing and growing daily, so stick around and explore...enjoy! And if you have to go, "I'll catch you the next time that old guitar comes 'round again".
